FRANCESCO Pisano may have to cool his jets before making a debut for Wanderers.

Neil Lennon reckons the Italian defender – nicknamed Little Bomb in Serie A – has the attributes to be successful in the Championship.

But because the 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving Cagliari at the end of last season, he could need a week or two to get fully up to speed.

“He’ll be itching to get going but he’s not ready yet,” Lennon told The Bolton News.

“There may be a period of acclimatisation but from what we have seen, we like the look of him. We needed competition at right-back and we have got it now.”

Lennon has already signed Lawrie Wilson this summer but feels Pisano offers something slightly different than the former Charlton Athletic man.

“They are different types but both good players,“ he said.

“Francesco is more aggressive in his defending and he will like to get forward when the opportunity comes.

"He has a fantastic engine.

"He has experience of playing Serie A for a long time.”

Lennon also confirmed Algeria international goalkeeper Rais M’Bolhi, who plays for from Philadelphia Union in the MLS, would continue his trial at Wanderers next week.

“He’s been recommended,” the manager said.

“He’s played in America and at the World Cup for Algeria. I only saw him yesterday so at the moment it’s just a case of having a look at him.”
