BREIGHTMET United continued their positive start to the season with a 4-1 win on the road at Hollinhead.

This was a tougher challenge for Paul Roberts side especially as the hosts play on a 3G surface but the manager was delighted with the response of the side.

He said: "It was a really strong performance and being on 3G we knew we needed to keep our shape when we had the ball and also not give it away.

"We had quite a quiet start but won a free-kick from 35-yards on 20 minutes and Junior Ralphson bent the ball into the top left hand corner of the net.

"We started to get on top and wanted to keep it simple with Dean Bancks getting the second with a strike from the edge of the box.

"They had a free-kick and pulled one back but five minutes later they went down to 10 men after an altercation with Tom Walker.

"Jason Brookes chased a ball over the top and put pressure on the defender and slotted it past the goalkeeper.

"We killed the game off when Ryan Harper's diagonal ball picked out our full-back Dominic Taylor and he smashed the ball home."

Elsewhere in the Bolton at Home Sunday League, Jordan Cover bagged a hat-trick and Gaz Cunliffe added two more along with Niall Callaghan's effort handed the points to Queen Anne in a 6-5 win against Tika Taka Newbury in Division One.

Aaron Sharples, Jay smith, Adam Haigh, and Tom Jones (two) scored for Newbury.

Meanwhile, Rumworth beat Clockface 3-1 and Farnworth United triumphed 2-0 against Astley Bridge.

D Havilland were also celebrating in the top-flight with a 3-2 win against Hulton Wanderers.

In Division Two, Astley Bridge had their scoring boots on in a 14-0 win over Brooklyn.

Andy Jones hit the back of the net four times and Dom Colquitt scored a hat-trick.

Tom McNair, Brad Colquitt, Jacob Aspen (two), Danny Mort (two) and Mick Beckett were on target.

Bradford Arms beat Beaumont 6-2, while Southfields had a convincing 3-0 win against Spinners Arms and Vulcan and Church Inn got a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
