WITH current uncertainty off the pitch at Wanderers, the Premier League has offered fans a timely reminder of the club’s recent glory days.

The Whites’ best Premier League goals featured as the Top Ten Tuesday offering on the league’s Twitter feed yesterday, November 17.

We think they’ve got it about right, but let us know if you think there are any glaring omissions.

While the list is limited to Premier League goals, what are readers’ memories of pre-1992 wonder strikes?

Let us know in comments.

10. Kevin Nolan’s neat overhead finish against Portsmouth from November 2005 is number 10. The strike earned the Whites a 1-0 victory and maintained their impressive start to a season in which they finished in eighth.

9. A long range strike from Ivan Campo against Spurs is at number nine. The Spaniard catches the ball sweetly from well outside the area to leave former England keeper Paul Robinson shamefaced. The goal came in a 2-0 victory over the North Londoners in 2006.

8. Sasa Curcic features at number eight with a strike against Chelsea from 1996. Turning on a sixpence, the Serb rifles the ball into the top corner.

7. And Curcic gets his second entry in the top 10 at number four with another memorable strike against the blues – this time finishing a mazy dribble and neat one-two for his first goal in the Premier League.

6. Stelios Giannakopoulos makes five on the chart with his finish against Norwich in March 2005. The Greek curls an unstoppable shot shot after the Canaries fail to clear their lines from a corner.

5. Youri Djorkaeff’s bicycle kick against Charlton earned Wanderers a point at The Valley in 2003. The season ended with celebrations as the Whites avoided relegation with a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough on the final day of the season.

4. The late Gary Speed scored with an acrobatic flick during a resounding 4-1 victory over West Ham in 2006. It was the first of two clashes against the East Londoners in as many weeks, with the Hammers knocking the Whites out the FA cup just four days later.

3. Nicolas Anelka nearly ripped the net off the goalposts with his 25-yard thunderbolt against his former club, Arsenal, in November 2006. The goal, one of two in a 3-1 victory, ended a long wait to get off the mark in the league after his club record move from Fenerbahce.

2. Johan Elmander’s twinkle toes features at number nine. The Swede jinks his way past a host of defenders before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner, helping the Whites on their way to a 3-2 victory in 2010. The goal was voted the best scored in the Premier League by readers of the Guardian newspaper a few months later.

1. When Jay Jay Okocha began a break from his own half against West Ham in 2003, few in the home crowd could guess what was about to unfold. The Nigerian shrugs off a hefty challenge, finds his feet and unleashes a thunderous drive into the roof of the net.Let us know what your favourite Wanderers goals are - whether it was in the Premier League era or before.
