JAY JAY Okocha will make an incredible return to Wanderers at the end of the season – 10 years after his last game for the club.

The Nigerian wizard has confirmed he will feature in the end-of-season legends game to raise funds for the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust and Community Trust.

One of the most skilful players to have graced the Premier League, Okocha made 145 appearances between 2002 and 2006, scoring 18 goals, cementing his status as a legend at Wanderers.

In 2005, fans voted him the second-best player ever to have featured for the club, behind the great Nat Lofthouse.

And after tracking down the former Paris St Germain star with the help of the British High Commissioner to Nigeria , Paul Arkwright, organisers of the game have confirmed the 42-year-old will be involved in the fundraiser in May.

“I am delighted to be coming back to Bolton to play in the Legends game,” Okocha said in a statement to the BWFCST. “It will give me a chance to see again all those wonderful fans who made my time at BWFC so special.

“I know the club has recently fallen on hard times, but with such brilliant fans and the backing of the Supporters’ Trust and the Community Trust, I know the club will survive and bring back the good times. I am honoured to be able to help in any way I can. See you all on the 14th of May.”

Okocha’s last appearance at Bolton was in May 2006 as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win over Birmingham City.

His last goal for the club came a few months earlier in a 4-3 defeat at Middlesbrough.

Among the other confirmed ex-Wanderers are Jason McAteer, Fabian De Freitas, Alan Thompson, Richard Sneekes, Kevin Nolan, Ricardo Gardner, Ivan Klasnic and Michael Johansen, while John McGinlay and Tony Kelly will captain the two sides.

Celebrity guest appearances will also be made by comedians John Bishop and Paddy McGuinness, presenter Jonathan Wilkes and McFly front man Danny Jones.

The game will take place at 3pm on Saturday, May 14 at the Macron with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s and concessions. A family of four (two adults, two under-16s/concessions) is £25.

Tickets for the legends match can be purchased online at the club’s e-ticketing site, over the phone on 0844 8712932 and in person at Bolton Central.

After the game a special game show event will be held at the Premier Suite. Tickets are £45 and include a three-course dinner followed by a head-to-head quiz.
