Marc Iles's player ratings for yesterday's 1-0 victory for Wanderers over Hull City:
WANDERERS (4-1-4-1)
BEN AMOS 7
Wasn’t forced into any spectacular saves but was generally quite confident under the spells of pressure Hull did create later in the game.
LAWRIE WILSON 7.5
A late replacement for Vela, Wilson combined well with Danns to create the goal and was very solid on the right side of Wanderers’ defence.
DAVID WHEATER 9
Giant performance from the big defender, now at the top of his game again. Can Wanderers strike a deal for next season – many supporters hope so.
ROB HOLDING 8
The Whites’ player of the year blends well with the more aggressive Wheater, picking off loose passes and playing the game at an effortless pace.
TYLER GARRATT 7
Facing a formidable opponent in Elmohamady Garratt stuck manfully to his task and didn’t allow much in behind him. Great experience.
DERIK OSEDE 8
Disciplined display from the Spaniard who really seems to suit the holding midfield role, providing extra insurance to the midfielders in front of him.
NEIL DANNS 7
Played some inventive football on the break and didn’t panic in possession despite being crowded into some tight situations. Playing well at the moment.
DARREN PRATLEY 7
Had a first half to forget – but the skipper is nothing if not resilient and his pressing paved the way for the best second-half performance of the season.
MARK DAVIES 7
A couple of typical scampering runs got the crowd on the edge of their seat but Davies was economical in possession too. Didn’t waste anything.
ZACH CLOUGH 6
Not much really clicked for Clough before he was forced off injured but he’ll have plenty more days like this. Unlucky with one shot blocked.
EMILE HESKEY 6
Doesn’t change – still gets very little change out of referees at the age of 38 but Heskey held the ball up well and put in a decent hour for the team.
Subs: Dobbie 59 (for Clough) – Great finish from a super sub 7.
Newell 64 (for Heskey) – Put himself around well 6.
Not used: Rachubka, Moxey, Thomas, Woolery, Walker.

HARRY MAGUIRE 6
MICHAEL DAWSON 6
SAM CLUCAS 6
AHMED ELMOHAMADY 7

ROBERT SNODGRASS 6
SHAUN MALONEY 5

Not used: McGregor, Bruce, Davies, Livermore.
