FORMER Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has agreed terms to become the next manager of Hibs.

Lennon returns North of the Border after a 17-month spell at the Macron Stadium which was wrecked by financial problems after a promising start.

The Northern Irishman took the club from bottom of the league to safety last season but struggled from the off after funding was cut for new signings, leaving his squad woefully short in some areas.

He departed in March by mutual consent, soon after the takeover was confirmed, and was linked immediately with a return to his former club Celtic.

He will be reunited with Garry Parker at Easter Road and reports claim he has signed a one-year rolling deal which makes him the highest-paid boss in Hibs’ history.

Lennon replaces ex-Bolton defender Alan Stubbs in the role, following his move to Rotherham United.
