A WANDERERS XI won 6-0 at Radcliffe Borough on Saturday in their second outing of pre-season.

Two goals apiece for youngsters Jack Earing and Luca Navarro and one each for Alex Honeyball and Cameron Moore sealed a comprehensive victory against the Evo-Stik First Division North side.

With Under-18s coach David Lee in charge again after the previous week's 3-3 draw at Atherton Collieries, Wanderers started brightly at Taurus Park.

But the hosts had chances too, debutant Stuart McDonald creating half chances and skipper Jack Hindle playing well.

But just eight minutes were on the clock when Wanderers broke the deadlock, Earing heading home from an accurate cross after a short corner.

The advantage was doubled when Honeyball latched on to a good pass to nod past the Boro stopper.

At the other end, Whites stopper Jake Turner had to be alert to save a shot from another Boro new boy, Lassana Nalatche.

The young Whites were in control, however, and increased their lead before half time when Earing powered a long-range effort into the top corner.

Boro had a chance to reduce the deficit before the break but Dillon Lomas's header was narrowly off target.

Three goals down at the midway point, the hosts fielded a completely new XI in the second half but it was much the same story as Wanderers continued to dictate play.

Eleven minutes after the restart, Navarro scored a fourth for the visitors from 12 yards.

Lee's side had to wait until the 87th minute to make it five when Moore finished off a good team move.

There was still time for a sixth, though, with Navarro completing his brace as he tapped home at the second attempt just before the final whistle after home stopper Daniel Whiting could not hold his first effort.

Lee was pleased with his side's efforts as their unbeaten start to pre-season continued.

He said: "It was a very pleasing performance right across the board.

"Everybody played well and that was reflected in the final score.

“We’re very happy with how the players did, especially considering it’s only their second game of pre-season.

“They built on a hard-fought draw against Atherton Collieries last weekend and they thoroughly deserved the victory.”

Lee takes his second-string to Stafford Rangers tonight for a third friendly, kick off 7.45pm.
