WANDERERS are locked in a cash row with north west neighbours Oldham Athletic.

A stand-off had developed between the two clubs, who are each accusing the other of not following through on a financial arrangement.

Oldham claim the Whites owe them money for the 4,300 away tickets sold for the 1-0 defeat in April.

Latics CEO Mark Moisley reckons the missing cash could have a “big impact” on his club’s ability to pay the bills over the leaner summer months. But The Bolton News understands Wanderers are also owed money from Oldham, with the loan fee for winger Chris Taylor noiw nearly four months overdue.

Ex-Bolton midfielder John Sheridan took Taylor back to Boundary Park in January, where he helped guide the club away from the relegation zone, making 16 appearances.

Taylor endured a difficult time at Wanderers before being loaned out – but has a year left on his contract and is expected to return for fitness testing in June.

News of Wanderers’ non-payment has spread quickly after Oldham’s chief exec Moisley aired a video interview on their official website detailing the cash issues currently being faced by the League One outfit.

He stopped short of naming Bolton specifically but while Wanderers are not commenting on the matter, it has been confirmed to The Bolton News that the ticket money has not been paid.

Moisley said he would be “keeping the pressure on” in the coming weeks to try and reclaim the debt.

“We do struggle with cash flow at times and summer is the worst period of all,” he said. “We don’t obviously have the revenue coming in from the gates. “Unfortunately, we are still owed money by a couple of clubs, one significant one that brought a big following here in April. We have still not received the ticket money from them and it has a big impact on us because we have got to find the salaries over the next three months the same way we do throughout the season.”

Meanwhile, a winding-up petition against Sports Shield BWFC will be heard this morning at 11.30am. The case is expected to be adjourned.
