WANDERERS will kick off their campaign in the Championship with a televised home game against Leeds United on Sunday, August 6.

Phil Parkinson’s promoted side have been handed a tough start to the season with trips to Millwall (August 12) and a midweek visit to Birmingham City (August 15) to follow.

Wanderers’ only real North West derby this season comes against Preston North End, with games scheduled at Deepdale on November 18 and at the Macron on March 3.

The festive fixture list is also a mixed bag with Cardiff City at home on December 23, Middlesbrough away on Boxing Day and Sheffield United away on December 30.

Wanderers then host Hull City at the Macron on New Year’s Day.

Easter weekend sees the Whites travel to Leeds on Saturday, March 31, and then face Birmingham at home on Easter Monday, April 2.

And the Whites finish off their season with a home game against Nottingham Forest on May 6.

Parkinson’s side meet two of the three relegated sides from the Premier League in the opening two months of the season, travelling to Hull City on August 26 and then hosting Boro on September 9.

Their first meeting with Sunderland will be on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31.

Other difficult midweek away trips include Bristol City on Tuesday, September 26 and Reading on Tuesday, March 6.

All fixtures are subject to change when the TV schedulers make their selections.
