WANDERERS Under-18s lost 2-0 at Bristol City on Saturday as their Professional Development League Two South campaign gets under way.

The young Whites began brightly and created numerous chances without capitalising after some good build-up play.

Dennis Politic caused the hosts problems with his pace while Luca Connell saw a long-range effort crash down off the bar onto the goalline and back into play.

The visitors remained on the front foot but went behind on the stroke of half time when Jack Turner netted after Wanderers failed to clear a short corner.

In the second half, the Whites continued to press and Luca Navarro went close to levelling the scores.

But 14 minutes from time they conceded a second soft goal when Chris Turner-Williams crashed a header against the woodwork for City and Vince Harper pounced to prod in the rebound.

The hosts could have had a third but saw penalty claims waved away after harper went down in the box late on.
