BOLTON Wanderers Ladies are all kitted out – thanks to the Supporters’ Trust.

Both the first team and reserve teams will soon have all their equipment costs reimbursed after a sponsorship agreement with the BWFCST.

Previously, costs for home and away shirts had been taken from subscriptions, which come at a cost of around £270 per year.

Mike Smith, one of the founder members of the BWFCST, told The Bolton News: “We’re happy to help out. We’d spotted a conversation on Twitter and learned the girls were paying for their own home and away shirts. We happened to be having a board meeting on the same night so I suggested we get involved, and the board were in complete agreement.

“About 30 per cent of our membership is female and everyone has taken a lot of pride in the success they have achieved in the last couple of years.

“The way I see it is that they are wearing our badge, so they deserve our full support.

“We got in touch with Katie (Bent) at the Community Trust and we’ll get something done soon.”

Wanderers Ladies come under the umbrella of the Community Trust, a registered charity, rather than the club itself.

Katie Bent, lead officer of sport partnerships at the Community Trust and chair of the BWFC Ladies, added: “The money that is being given by BWFCST is to cover the costs for the ladies first team and reserves kit for this season.

“We would like to thank BWFCST for their support of the ladies by purchasing our kits.

“I would like to express our thanks to BWFC for their continued support of the ladies teams, we continue to be a big part of BWFC and their support with in kind facilities and media coverage is helping us to take the next steps within the women’s football pyramid.

“We have high ambitions as a ladies club for the future following our promotion last season and look forward to our future as part of BWFC.”
