BARR Hill Vets went top of Division One after beating Manor Vets 5-3 at home.

The victory means Barr Hill lead by three points but have played a game more than Irlam Steel, whose game was postponed.

Salford Victoria collected their first win, beating North Walkden 9-3.

Old Boltonians kept up the pressure on Division Two leaders Turton Vets with a 3-2 win at Bolton Lads and Girls Club with two goals from Neil Seddon and one by Paul Berry, but Neil Davies and Veejy Mistry scored to keep BLGC in the game. Old Bolts are three points adrift of Turton, but have two games in hand on the leaders, who kept top spot with a 5-2 win at Hindley Town for whom Lee McVey and Stu Gaskell scored. Stuart Williams and Andrew Clarke scored two and David Simkins one for Turton.

Division Three leaders Home Guard Failsworth stay top but dropped points in a 3-3 draw at Horwich St Mary’s Victoria. Steve MacDonald scored two and Mike Coburn one for Horwich, but a Rob Black double and a Paul Lennon strike earned them a point.

Dobbies B are a point behind the leaders with two games in hand and dramatically improved their goal difference as they thrashed Ainsworth A 13-1 with Michael Longdale hitting six goals, Dave Cosgrove, Lee Whalley and Andrew Benjamin scoring two each and Carl Swift adding one.

Although Deans Youth and Ladies are still without a point in Division Four, they came close at fellow strugglers PF Bury, who earned their first points of the season with a satisfying 2-1 home win. Paul Worsley and Martin Kojder scored for PF Bury and Daz Schofield for Deans.

Radcliffe Old Boys B beat Heaton Casuals 3-2 to join them at the top of Division Four with two games in hand. Nathan Comley scored a brace and Mark Owen the other to give Radcliffe victory while Tony McCormick and Alan Westhead kept Heaton Casuals in the game.

Bury Seniors are still looking for their first point after losing at Atherton Town. Neil Butcher scored for the visitors, but Martin Jordan, Pete Carson and Scott Mulcrowe gave Atherton a 3-1 victory.
