WANDERERS have confirmed goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has signed a new two-year deal to remain at the Macron Stadium.
The 31-year-old won the club’s player of the season after helping Phil Parkinson’s side clinch survival in the Championship.
He fought off competition from Mark Howard to establish himself as Bolton’s number one, making 41 appearances to bring his overall total to 67.
Sunderland had been monitoring the former Totttenham keeper since the turn of the year but after initiating talks in March, Wanderers were able to complete the formalities on a new contract earlier this afternoon.
Parkinson was happy to oblige one of his most consistent performers, adding: "I’m really pleased that we’ve agreed this deal with Ben. He is a great professional, was excellent for us last season and I’m looking forward to working with him over the coming seasons."
