THE league again suffered the effects of the weather with only five out of 12 games being played.
Bolton Parks pitches were closed because of anticipated heavy snow, which never came, but overnight rain caused pitches to be waterlogged and unplayable.
In the Division One Cup quarter-final, Atherton Town went to Salford Waggon and came away with a 4-3 victory thanks to goals from Stuart Rudd, Mickey Harris and a brace from Darrel Martinez.
Bottom side Cheers Bar were up against Daten in their rearranged Division One league game and were level at half-time. Darryl Painter put Daten ahead after 25 minutes, but Cheers equalised five minutes before the break after which Neil Matthews scored Daten’s winner to put them clear in second place in the table despite this being only their fourth league game of the campaign.
Walkden Cricket Club moved up to third following their 2-1 home victory over Victoria.
John Parker opened the scoring for Walkden, and, although they were pegged back before the interval, Ian Mullineux scored Walkden’s second-half winner.
Pineapple jumped to the top of Division Two by taking three points from their 3-0 away win over Ainsworth A.
Scott Hilton set the visitors on their way in the first half and Anthony Beech added two in the second half to secure the victory.
The only Division Three game saw Ainsworth B and Dobbies share the points in a 1-1 draw.
Dobbies scored first then Carl Grindley equalised with the only other goal of the game.
