ATHERTON LR conceded four goals without reply for the second time in four days as they crashed out of the Vodkat NW Counties League Cup to First Division Runcorn Town.
The third-round replay was in the balance after a scoreless first half but after the break Premier Division LR got a taste of what they can expect from newly-promoted Runcorn next season.
Atherton Collieries beat Leek CSOB 2-1 at Alder House, their goals coming from Paul Williams and Paul Shanley. Daisy Hill drew 3-3 against Irlam with goals from Martin Hastings, Paul Greenacre and Damon Clynes.
LR host Bacup Borough today, Collieries are at home to AFC Blackpool, and Daisy Hill host Norton United. All the games kick off at 3pm.
