JACK Hindle earned Radcliffe Borough a good point at home to seventh-placed Bamber Bridge with a stoppage time equaliser yesterday.

Borough, who are 18th – or fifth bottom – of the Evostik League First Division North, went ahead through Dave Sherlock's 23rd-minute strike only for Bamber Bridge to level virtually on half time and then take the lead on 65 minutes.

But Borough would not be denied and their determination, combined with some impressive play, eventually paid off.

The game had been in doubt until 10 minutes before kick-off, with the Stainton Park pitch holding a lot of water.

After chances for both sides, Sherlock opened the scoring with a deflected shot from 20 yards.

Boro had Richard Smith to thank for a goalline clearance, but the high-flying visitors hit back and looked like they were going to deny Boro a deserved point when they scored their two goals.

Paul McGuire made what would turn out to be an inspired double substitution when he brought on Jack Hindle and Ryan Hibbert.

After Sherlock had hit the post and Boro had been reduced to 10 men because of a red card to Smith, Elliott Rokka’s shot was blocked and fell to Hindle who made no mistake from six yards.

Boro are at home again tomorrow to 13th-placed Clitheroe.
