GOALS came by the dozen for Division Two table-toppers Ladybridge on Saturday as they put basement club Barrow Wanderers to the sword.

Matty Woods and Gary Whiteside claimed half of the league leaders' tally for the day with a hat-trick apiece as they stormed to a 12-1 victory.

Whiteside started the ball rolling, opening the scoring after only five minutes, but after the Cumbrians quickly equalised Ladybridge went into overdrive.

Elliot Waugh, Sam Parkinson and Ross Ellison all found the net as the home side imposed their authority in the first half.

And they cut loose in the second thanks to a brace from Jordan Coop, two more from Whiteside, one from Harry Brazel and three goals in 15 minutes from Woods.

The comprehensive victory maintained Ladybridge's 10-point gap at the top of the table.

CMB also made light work of Barrow opposition in the same division as they cruised to a 4-0 win against Furness Rovers.

It took Matty Carr until just before the hour mark to open the scoring, but he quickly added a second before laying on a third goal for Mike McGinlay.

Andy Warburton topped off a fine afternoon's work with a 40-yard stunner as CMB maintained their promotion push in fourth place.

The home side pulled one back from the penalty spot before the break and levelled early in the second half. Turton missed two glorious chances to win it in last five minutes.

Eagley remain third bottom in the Premier Division after failing to hang on to a second-half lead at mid-table Fleetwood Hesketh.
