TWO weeks of league fixtures have been postponed in an attempt to keep the cup rounds on track.

In the Sam Ashworth Trophy, Ainsworth A won their much delayed secondround match, with Jones scoring one and Paul Taylor two in a 3-2 victory over Pig and Whistle.

Atherton Town won 3-2 at Dobbies who took an early lead through Chris Williams.

Atherton’s Neil Critchley levelled and Stuart Rudd put them ahead before the interval, after which Joey Jarrett pulled Dobbies level, but 10 minutes from time Rudd gave Atherton victory from the penalty spot.

Cheers Bar walked into the semi-finals of the Division One Cup when Salford Lads Club conceded, but in the same competition, Victoria and Queen Lizzie went all the way to penalties.

Lizzie twice came from behind with goals from Jason Russell and Justin Hughes, who equalised with the last kick of normal time.

With no goals in extra-time, the match went to a shootout which Lizzie won 6-5.

The Division Two Cup game between Harwood Grey Mare and Pineapple was in danger of going to extra time until Greg Richardson grabbed the winner for Pineapple with the last kick.

In the Division Three Cup quarter-finals, there were wins for Old Boltonians, who beat Bolton Lads and Girls Club 3-2 with goals from Stokes (2) and Chris Neil.

Richard Gee and Jimmy Reynolds scored for BLGC.

Pearson (two), Jones (two), O’Gorman and Yates scored in JLJ Golborne’s 6-1 win against Victory Vets.

In Division Three, Bolton 6th Form and Bolton Wyresdale drew 2-2, and Henighams scored 11 without reply against Ainsworth B.
