DATEN moved clear at the top of Division One with a 2-0 defeat of Walkden CC thanks to goals from Burnett and Paul Wheelee.

Cheers Bar beat Dobbies 6-5 in a thriller. Chris Williams scored three and Paul Tillott two for Dobbies, but they were out-gunned by a Paul Mercer hat-trick for Cheers Bar plus one each from S Hinchy, Leo Statham and former Manchester United player Jimmy Quinn.

Sir Robert Peel went top of Division Two with a 4-2 win at Pineapple, for whom Metcalfe got the first two before Neil Davies, Jim Allsop, Andy Davies and Rick Gaberbrook turned the match round for Peel.

Moorside Rangers won 4-2 against Quadrant. Tony Clewel opened the scoring, but Moorside replied through Hancock, Rele and McKee.

Tim Rix gave Quadrant hope with a second-half goal, but Rele wrapped it up for Moorside 10 minutes from time.

Golborne suffered a 3-0 home defeat by Ashton Town for whom Paul Richmond scored in the first half and John Gough either side of the interval. Bromley Cross and PF Bury both failed to score in their encounter.

Division Three leaders Henighans dropped points in a 5-5 draw with bottom side Radcliffe Old Boys.

Paul Bentley scored a hattrick and Paul Drennan a brace for Radcliffe while a John Done hat-trick and goals from Karl Duncan and Warren Cliff levelled for the leaders.
