ALAN Hutton will wait on the result of scans on a knee injury to assess whether he is fit enough to face Leicester City.

The Scotland international limped out of the 0-0 draw at Charlton Athletic and it was feared after the game that his season could be over.

Dougie Freedman will give the on-loan Aston Villa defender every chance to face the title-chasing Foxes, but admits the wear and tear is starting to have an effect on his squad as the season draws to a close.

“Hutton felt his knee at half time and his recovery, he tells me, was being hurt by the swelling in his knee,” he explained. “We will have to see what happens with his scans. It’s getting to that time of year – we missed Medo with a stomach injury, Andre with his hamstring in training, Joe Mason went back to Cardiff and Mark Davies is still not completely right with his groin.

“It happened to us last season as well, so we have to be very, very careful how we go.”
