Tempest United bounced back from an indifferent start to their Premier League campaign with a thumping 6-3 home win over Poulton Town.

The Bolton side were 2-0 but goals from Matty Swales (2), Matt Carter (2), Chris Farnworth and Gary Barnes gave United an emphatic win despite Poulton’s late consolation strike.

A Nick Fisher penalty rescued a 1-1 draw for hosts Stoneclough when they fell behind to Freckleton.

Eagley were disappointed not to take full advantage after Jimmy Marsden put them 1-0 up, before conceding a second-half equaliser.

In Division One, Turton were beaten 2-0 at Norcross and Warbreck while in Division Two Bolton County came away from Gsk Ulverston Rangers with a 2-2 draw. County’s goals came from Daniel Robinson and Adam Farnworth rescued a draw for the Bolton side after the Ulverston men went 2-1 up.
