BOLTON Under-15s had to settle for a share of the points after being held 3-3 by Chorley in their Greater Manchester Schools’ League game last Saturday.
The local lads enjoyed much the better of the early exchanges and took the lead through an own goal after just 12 minutes following good work from Sam Smyth (St Joesph’s).
Robert Melia (Rivington) doubled their advantage eight minutes later to go into the break 2-0 up, but the home side pulled one back midway through the second half.
Chorley levelled with just 12 minutes remaining but Bolton hit back with a strike from Ryan Farnworth (Turton) to regain their lead with five minutes to go.
Bolton must have thought they had done enough but Chorley equalised for a second time in the dying seconds.
Bolton U14s went down 1-0 to Oldham in their Greater Manchester Schools’ League match.
It was an even contest throughout but Oldham finally broke the deadlock with the only goal of the game on the hour mark to secure maximum points.
