Tavern upset odds with narrow victory

CYNS Tavern beat high-flying Hulton Lane 3-2 in their Premier Division clash thanks to a brace from Ryan Porter and a goal for Grant Deane.
Chris and Gaz Cunniffe were each on target for the Lane.
Deane enjoyed a fine 3-2 victory over Bolton Sports. There was a goal each for James Inal, Brian Faye and Ant Holt, while Sports’ Paul Hatton got both their goals.
In a seven-goal thriller, FC Bolton beat Cattle Market Wanderers 4-3. Chris Hutchinson scored two, and James Tobin and Jamie McClare scored one each for Bolton while Josh Guffogg, Gaz Gemill and Mark Watts hit the net for Wanderers.
Division One leaders Darcy Lever kept up their winning run and are looking good to top the table at the end of the season.
They beat Newbury 5-1 away with a brace from Adam Allwell and one each for Mitch Leech, Danny Haigh, and Phil Markland.

In the only other game to beat the weekend weather, Moses Gate moved off the bottom of the table by beating Rumworth Hall Gt Lever 3-1.
There was a goal each for Martin Brown, John Armour and man-of-the-match Danny Lowe. Dan Corrigan was on target for Lever.
In Division Two, Leigh lads Hogan’s Athletic went down to league-leaders Gt Lever Queen Lizzy 20- 0, with a landmark 10 goals from Gary McArthur.
There was a hat trick for Lee Walker, braces for Dave Lowe, Tom Manny and Shaun Kinsella, with one for Adam Clare. Flying Shuttle and Johnson Fold drew 1-1 in a hardfought match. Shuttle took an early lead through Andrew Hamilton but Craig Sloane levelled.
Breightmet FC beat Horwich Town 7-1 with a brace from John Yates, four from Chris Donague and one for Liam Pardon Bell. Stuart Grereton got the Horwich goal.
Butchers Arms carried on last week’s good form with a 6-0 home win against Newbury FC. Nathan Monson scored two and there was one each for Ben Chadwick, Kyle Mathers, Kieron Fisher and Andy Mason. In the Open Cup, Farnworth CC beat local rivals Farnworth United 3-1 after extra-time
