I have two complaints with Chelsea.

One, their only goal looked a mile offside.

Two, their multimillionaire stars spent far too long rolling about on the ground – it was like a flash back to Italia 1990 and the comic antics of Jurgen Klinsmann.

It was embarrassing – simples.

Yes, Wanderers played a pretty physical game, but then so did the Londoners – it’s just while the real men, such as Kevin Davies, Paul Robinson and Fabrice Muamba get up and get on with it, the likes of Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda and Ashley Cole resort to tactics that are a woeful example to any school kid watching on.

Sadly, television replays of the goal showed Drogba and Malouda were both just about onside.

But if you ask me, only 11 men – plus three subs – came out of that game with any credit, and it was those wearing white.

In what the purists might term a dull first half, Wanderers were tough, we were resolute.

Making his full Premier League debut, Rodrigo Moreno enjoyed mixed fortunes.

He was caught out of position a couple of times and had to be strong against Cole, but he displayed enough promise to show Owen Coyle that he was right to pick the youngster ahead of Martin Petrov.

It was pretty much all Chelsea but they didn't really get a sniff of goal in the first 45 minutes.

Sam Ricketts was good too – he may just be winning the battle of the right backs with Gretar Steinsson.

He's got plenty of pace in attack, as he showed when he embarrassed Cole with a delightful nutmeg – although he did waste a glorious chance to equalise late on.

Indeed, on a different night, Whites might have grabbed a goal – Johan Elmander, Matty Taylor and Stuart Holden all went close.

It wasn’t to be, but we can go into the next game away to Liverpool at Anfield, with our heads held high, and with every chance of an upset.
