SCHOOLS FOOTBALL: Bolton Under-14s return to action following the Easter break with a Greater Manchester Schools’ League game against local rivals Bury at St Gabriel’s School on Saturday.

Bolton are favourites to take the title this season and team manager, Ivor Altdorf, will be keen for his side to claim maximum points from their neighbours who have suffered mixed fortunes in the league this time round.

Bolton currently top the table with three games still to play against Bury, Oldham and Manchester whilst Bury are languishing in the bottom half of the table with matches against Bolton, Tameside and Oldham remaining.

Bolton have hit top form in the league this season, winning all of their seven games.

The U-14s did not fare as well in the Greater Manchester Schools’ Talbot Cup, suffering an early quarter-final exit after a 6-1 defeat by Manchester, whose semi-final opponents will be Bury, who beat Wigan 2-1 in the last eight.
