CHEERS Bar maintained their two-point gap at the top of Division One with a 3-0 victory over Atherton Town.

After a goalless first half, Cheers stepped up a gear with Paul Costello scoring twice and Lee Urnshaw making it three.

They went a goal behind but Darryl Painter equalised before the interval, Chris Burrows put Daten ahead after the break and Painter scored again to secure the points which leaves them two points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

In a top-v-bottom clash in Division Three, leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B dropped two points in a 3-3 draw at Elton Liberals, but increased their lead as Dobbies lost at home to Ainsworth B.

Mickey Jefferson scored a hat-trick and Paul Roscoe was also on target in Ainsworth’s 5-2 victory, with Gary Davenport and Peter Forgoine scoring for Dobbies.
