EAGLEY made it four wins in as many matches thanks to first-half strikes from Ash Morris and Scott McNair in a 2-1 win at Fulwood Amateurs.

Morris’s opener put Simon Haworth’s side ahead after four minutes.

Hosts Fulwood battled back to equalise on 22 minutes, only for the Dunscar outfit to edge back ahead with what turned out to be a winner from McNair.

Haworth said: “The lads were excellent. They played some good football in attack and defended with great discipline.”

The win keeps Eagley in sixth spot in the table.

At the other end of the Premier Division, fourth-bottom Tempest United had eight first-team regulars missing and gave debuts to Tom Halligan and Ryan Keegan in a damaging 3-2 defeat at third-bottom Vickerstown.

Assistant boss Gary Westhead said: “We played really well. Even their players came off saying we were the best team, but that doesn’t put points on the board.

Vickerstown took advantage of two gaolkeeping mistakes and a penalty to take a 3-0 lead before Tempest fought back with two of their own Daniel Ashcroft. “We hit the post and bar before they scored and Daniel’s goals then got us back in the game, but we ran out if time.

“But you can’t legislate for individual mistakes and that’s what is killing us this season.”

Elsewhere, Bolton County had to come from behind to get a 5-1 win against bottom side Millom.

Hat-trick hero Liam Stewart was their star man, while a Matt Ormrod goal and Josh Roberts’ debut strike for the club finished the scoring.

Manager Henry Chapman said: “I was very disappointed in our first half display but after a few harsh words at half time we got the response we asked for.”

Turton looked to be heading for a well-deserved victory over Dalton United following Lewys Jones’ second-half strike but conceded a late equaliser.

In Division Two, CMB stormed into a 2-0 lead against Kendal following first-half goals from Michael McGinlay and Jamie Boyd.

But they capitulated in the second half, and ended up slumping to a 3-2 defeat.
