DATEN won the Sam Ashworth Trophy with a 2-1 victory over Salford Waggon after extra time.

Division One leaders Daten, who look destined to lift the league title, dominated the first half with Paul Whealing putting them ahead.

Salford, who are third in the league, took control after the break and Barry Massey scored to take the game into extra time. Daten went down to 10 men and soaked up pressure in the extra period before clinching victory with a Neil Matthews goal.

Division Three leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B landed the first trophy of a possible double when they beat Golborne Parkside 2-1 to win their divisional cup final.

Andrew Spensley opened the scoring for Radcliffe and Ivor Altdorf made it 2-0 10 minutes before the interval at Tempest United’s Lostock ground.

In Division Two third-placed Moorside beat Chorlton Sports 3-0 with two goals from Anthony Weall and one from Christian Bates.

Turton Bay Mare moved level on points with Henighans at the top of Division Two with a 2-1 win against Ashtonians with Stewart Williams on the scoresheet for the winners.

BLGC are second in Division Three with three games in hand on leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B and five still to play including one against Radcliffe.

Allan Mitchell and Matthew Plano scored to give them a 2-0 victory over Bolton Wyresdale.

Tomorrow they are at home to Ainsworth B who drew 2-2 with Failsworth with Lee Smith scoring both Ainsworth’s goals.
