OLD Boltonians are two points clear at the top of the Premier Division after beating old rivals Prestwich 3-0 at Chapeltown.

Equally significantly, it moved them nine points above Prestwich who pipped them to the title in the last two seasons.

Old Bolts dominated after Andy Myers’ 20th-minute introduction in midfield and went ahead when Matt McClellan headed in Dave Warburton’s corner.

Darren Dalton and Sean Rushton missed chances before the team upped the intensity after the break.

Lee Worswick crashed a thunderbolt against a post before he made it 2-0 10 minutes from time, cutting in and slotting his shot past the Prestwich keeper.

Rushton completed the scoring with a simple tap-in after Warburton ran from one 18-yard box to the other, beating four men on the way.

Local teams occupy four of the bottom five places, the highest, Castle Hill, drawing 2-2 at second-bottom Little Lever.

Carl Henry and a Daniel Warburton penalty put Castle Hill two goals up before Little Lever equalised just before half-time.

James Edmondson had a penalty saved by the Lever keeper before the home side levelled midway through the second half.

Howe Bridge Mills went down 5-2 at fourth-placed Rochdale St Clements, Martin Parkinson pulling it back to 2-1 and Zak Casey making it 3-2 before two late goals killed them off.

Horwich Victoria are bottom and without a point after a 2-0 defeat at Old Mancunians.

Farnworth Town climbed to fifth in Division One with just one defeat from seven games after a resounding 4-0 home victory over second-bottom Chaddertonians.

Lance Sheehan set them on their way with a third-minute half volley and Kieran Ward doubled the lead from the penalty spot on 14 minutes after Mike Berry was fouled.

Ward was again successful from the spot two minutes before the break after Ste Ward was felled and Berry thundered home an unstoppable header for the fourth from Kyle Tyldesley’s inswinging corner to wrap up the convincing win.
