LADYBRIDGE are sitting pretty at the top of Division Two of the West Lancashire Football League after a comfortable 3-0 win against Furness Rovers.

The Lostock side carved several chances out in the first 25 minutes but failed to take any until Gary Whiteside burst into the box and squared to Benson Johnson who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

Dave Walker's side were comfortably on top and Whiteside scored a great solo goal going past three defenders before sliding the ball home.

Ladybridge scored a third shortly after the break when Johnson got his second of the game when he volleyed home after Ross Ellison hit the post.

In the same division, CMB continued their impressive run of results with a hard fought 2-0 away victory at Furness Cavaliers.

After creating a number of chances CMB finally broke the deadlock on the 70th minute with a Liam Carr wonder strike.

Mike McGinley secured all three points with a neat finish in the closing minute.

Elsewhere, Stoneclough's trip to Todmorden Borough was postponed.

In Division One, Turton got back to winning ways in style with a 5-0 win against Dalton United.

The management team of the Thomasson Fold side were looking for a response after their 4-0 defeat to rivals Bolton County.

Their first goal had a touch of luck about it when a Matt Eckersley shot struck Dylan Winstanley and wrong footed the Dalton keeper.

In the second half, a great team move resulted in full-back Danny Taylor finishing well.

Chris Benson then made a great goaline clearance and Josh McGreavy a wonderful save to keep the score at 2-0.

After that it was one way traffic with Kieran Sisson bagging a hat-trick the first being a brilliant right foot strike from the left hand edge of the box into the top corner.

Meanwhile, Tempest United were almost made to pay for missed chances as they beat Wyre Villa 3-2.

Gary Westhead's side should have been 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes as Liam Stewart hit post and Pete Lancaster missed a one-on-one.

Villa scored after 20 minutes then skipper Sean Rothwell equalised but the home side went ahead again to lead 2-1 at the break.

Tempest came out 2nd half and Stewart scored his 14th season to make it 2-2.

Then the skipper Sean Rothwell slotted home a last minute penalty to wrap up the points.

Hi Rob. Thanks. Great to get back to winning ways.
