4:25pm
65 - GOAL - PORTSMOUTH 2 Bury 0 - Connolly shows real quality in the box to bag his second of the game. The veteran striker pounced after Trevor Carson could only palm away a curling Johnny Ertl strike, controling the loose ball, fading to shoot then burying a low strike past Carson from close range.
4:20pm
As it stands, Bury will drop to the bottom of League One tonight, nine points behind Scunthorpe, who are in 20th. Safety now looks a long long way away...
4:14pm
That's tough on the 366 Bury fans that made the long trip down to Fratton Park. They deserve better - let's hope Bury can muster up a response in the final 35 minutes.
4:10pm
50 - GOAL - PORTSMOUTH 1 Bury 0 - David Connolly slots home from close range after good work from Jed Wallace on the left, capitalising on a mix-up between Carl Regan and Ashley Eastham before putting a low centre on a plate for the unmarked Pompey striker.
4:08pm
48 - Let-off for Pompey as Dan Butler just manages to clear following a dreadful clearance from Eastwood that put him in all sorts of trouble.
4:05pm
Portsmouth get the second half underway. No changes for either side.
3:50pm
Portsmouth 0 Bury 0
3:49pm
45+1 - Bury stopper Trevor Carson calmly gathers Jed Wallace's long-range free-kick.
3:48pm
45 - YELLOW - Zac Thompson goes into the book for a rash foul.
3:46pm
43 - Guess what ... Thompson has just hooked a shot well over from 20 yards. Owen Farrell eat yer heart out.
3:44pm
41 - Pompey are getting closer, Johnny Ertl just fails to turn a low cross goalward at the near post.
3:42pm
Fagan has gone down now. Blackwell was screaming for the striker to go back and help defensively and he promptly picks up some kind of side strain. A bit worrying as the former Hull striker has just come back from a long lay-off with a hip problem.
3:39pm
35 - Liam Walker joins in the high, wide and not so hansome club, firing about 30 yards over from 25 yards out. First Pompey shot of any real not though.
3:38pm
Ironic cheers from the Pompey fans after a decision goes their way - Jones needlessly pushed his marker in the back as he went up to head a Worrall cross at the back post.
3:36pm
Both sides showing they are up for the fight, but lacking in the necessary quality to do anything about it...
3:33pm
30 - Mark Carrington is the latest Bury player to fire harmlessly over. Schumacher again raises his hands in frustration.
3:29pm
26 - Weak volley from Thompson easy for Eastwood.
3:27pm
He's back on but hobbling. Seems to be moving a bit more freely though.
3:26pm
Not good news - Worrall has gone down grabbing his foot after a David and Goliath challenge with Patrick Agyemang. Only one winner there.
3:22pm
19 - Schumacher picks up the loose ball on the edge of the box but fires his volley high and wide. Bit more composure from Bury and they could be 2-0 by now...
3:21pm
18 - Just wide from Worrall, curling a shot past the far post from the left edge of the box.
3:15pm
12 - Fagan blazes over from six yards. He did the hard work, pulling a mis-hit ball from Jones out of the sky, then steadied himself and got right under the ball. Schumacher struggles to contain his frustration.
3:11pm
8 - First effort from Bury, Craig Fagan just failing to connect properly after pouncing in the six yard box. The Bury striker scuffed his shot straight to Pompey keeper Simon Eastwood.
3:08pm
Craig Jones just got a roasting from his captain, Steven Schumacher, after failing to tee him up properly for a free kick in a good area. Welcome to the starting line-up Craig...
3:04pm
David Worrall has started on the left of the Bury midfield, Craig Jones on the right.
3:02pm

RT @CraigNelsonBT: @DavidPyeBN has dubbed today's match between hard-up #BuryFC and #PortsmouthFC El Brassico. Can anyone better that?

@CraigNelsonBT be sure to let us know how many shakers have travelled! wish i could be there #buryfc #uts
— @jwarents 09 March 2013
My maths aren't great but I reckon there's somewhere between 150 and 200 fans in the Bury end.
2:33pm
According to Twitter gossip, former Scunthorpe keeper Paul Musselwhite is coaching the Bury keepers today after Fred Barber left to take up a job as Nigel Worthington's assistant at York City.
2:26pm
My boss @NeilBonnarBN asked the sports desk to come up with a title for today's match between two of League One's cash-strapped sides.
My colleague @DavidPyeBN was deemed the winner with El Brassico.
Not sure either side would be too happy with that, but it's not a bad effort.
2:23pm
And our Shakers man @CraigNelsonBT has taken his pound for the Portsmouth meter to report live on El Brassico on the Bury Times website

Team news
Kevin Blackwell makes two changes to the side that he blasted for an "awful" performance in the 2-0 defeat at home to Crawley Town last time out.
Out go injured Tom Soares, as well as on-loan forward Nicky Ajose, who drops to the bench.
In come Carl Regan at right-back, releasing David Worrall to go back to his preferred position on the right of midfield, and Craig Jones, who will take Ajose's place on the opposite flank.
Top scorer and captain Steven Schumacher will continue with his attacking midfield role, while Craig Fagan remains the lone frontman.
Blackwell does at least have plenty of attacking options on the bench, with forwards Andy Bishop, David Healy and Jonson Clarke-Harris.
He doesn't have a single defender to call upon, however, although Valery Mezague could finally be given his debut after being named as a substitute.
It is unclear whether he will be fit enough to play a major part in the match after spending the last month or so recovering from a hamstring strain since his arrival on non-contract terms.
2:09pm
Full line-ups
PORTSMOUTH: Eastwood; Moutaouakil, Rocha, Gyepes, Butler; Wallace, Ertl, Racon, Walker; Agyemang, Connelly.
Not used: Smith, Webster, Harris, Cooper, Maloney.
BURY: Carson; Regan, Eastham, Ebanks-Landell, Skarz; Carrington, Thompson; Worrall, Schumacher, C Jones; Fagan.
Subs: Bishop, Ajose, Healy, Clarke-Harris, Belford, Mezague.
1:41pm
A warm welcome from Fratton Park to any Bury fans who couldn't make the long trip down to the South Coast.
And for those of you stuck at Southampton Central station, I feel your pain.
I have to give a big shout out to young Pompey followers Lewis and William, who convinced their travelling companions to allow me to cadge a lift in their taxi.
I wouldn't have made it to the ground without them after a freight train left the tracks in between Southampton and Portsmouth.
Anyway, I'm in position now and will give you the team news as soon as I get it.
Let's hope the magical mystery tour hasn't been in vain!

Kevin Blackwell may have been hamstrung before he started but he's proved to the wider football world what a useless manager he is when it comes to 'BACKS AGAINST THE WALL SITUATION.'.I doubt anyone with any degree of common sense would touch him with a bargepole. He's not actually achieved anything in the game. He's just a nearly nearly man who has run our club down.I mean what advantage is there to be gained by telling the media that some of the players aren't getting paid?.It only serves to allow all other fans and football interested people to mock us.Is it not bad enough that he signs injured players, ones that nobody else wants and then plays our best players out of position. The moral and family togetherness has completely evapourated from the dressing room.I'm now glad that i didn't go to the Chesterfield game 2 years ago when we celebrated promotion with RYAN LOWE'S Wondergoal. It's only 2 years ago but i knew this would happen to us.No success ever lasts long with us long suffering supportersOh and please Mr Fenton stop running our club like a church jumble sale..

y the worst permanent manager in the club's history. We are now certain to go down but if Blackwell stays i fear we will capitulate without even a whimper.

Unfortunately Bury are a 3rd division club. They are punching above their weight in the 2nd. Keep solvent take the drop, consolidate and be competitive next year, get into the playoffs but don't get promotion. Strange to say this I know but it's all about survival

The first goal on Saturday was, according to BBC Radio Manchester, the result of "some dreadful defending" which isn`t surprising in view of the fact that he got rid of two experienced central defenders, plays two kids, refusing to recall Efe.
Both Pompey goals scored by their veteran Irish striker. We have a veteran Northern Irish striker - in fact, the leading NI goalscorer BUT he doesn`t fit into Blackwell`s preferred hoof it up style of play. Any decent manager would have built the play around Healy who`s only looked poor because he`s hardly had a run out and is expected to play in a formation that doesn`t suit him.
Are you sure Blackwell is only on a one year contract - I thought he`d ben given three years. I do hope that you`re right. If not, I think his comments have got to be looked at in terms of breach of contract.

The attendancesat Gigg have never been any different over the last 20 odd years or so.....why do the attendances this season suprise you?
We are in the current financial mess because our board budgetted far too high at the beginning of the season, thus spent money we were never going to generate/recouperate
....end off.

Second, KB has been a huge disappointment and even though times have been tough financially, KB has failed in every facet of Managing the Club. The board is also culpable by having agreed to bring Healy and his ilk....
Thirdly, Eileen is right on the money. Excellent observations.
The only saving grace (as of right now) is we are still 8 points from safety after the weekends games.
If, and this is a BIG IF...if we can defeat Scunny and Colchester, it could make it interesting...but that's my blue heart leading my head.
This club will survive. If we go down, I suspect we will be back in the running to come up based upon the rubbish in League-2. However, let's all hope that is not the case and we can stay in League-1.
