63 - YELLOW - Mark Carrington is booked for a late challenge on Anthony Grant.

9:02pm

8:53pm

51 - SUB - Miguel Comminges on for Lee Hills

8:49pm

8:32pm

Bury 0 Stevenage 0

8:30pm

44 - YELLOW - Steve Beleck goes into the referee's notebook for a late challenge on Schumacher.

8:27pm

39 - Craig Jones skies a shot from eight yards out with the goal at his mercy. The ball bounced back to the midfielder after Bishop poked a shot against Arnold, the Stevenage keeper, from the six yard line. A horrible miss with Arnold on his backside.

8:20pm

Great charging down from Schumacher. Bury's top scorer for the season will have been gutted not to take his tally to 11 from the spot, but he's doing his best to make amends.

8:16pm

30 - Schumacher fires a volley just over from a bouncing ball 30 yards out after Andy Bishop had nodded the ball past the last defender Mark Roberts.

8:11pm

8:05pm

20 - SAVED - Schumacher's weak side foot shot is palmed away by Steve Arnold

8:04pm

18 - Penalty for Bury as Steven Schumacher is brought down in the box.

8:02pm

16 - Lucas Akins balloons a shot on the turn, just inside the Bury box.

8:01pm

One other bit of team news - there is no place in the squad for David Healy, who was roundly booed when he came on to replace Craig Jones late in the game on Saturday.

7:58pm

12 - Decent cross-field ball from Craig Fagan almost plays in David Worrall on the left, but David Gray just manages to cut out the danger.

7:57pm

Sodje fluffs a back header from just inside the Bury half,  but Trevor Carson scampers out of goal to clear.

7:54pm

Bury's defence look understandably edgy, with both Ashley Eastham and Ethan Ebanks-Landell playing out of position.

Eastham has switched from the right to the left of the centre back pairing, while Ebanks-Landell, who has been playing on the left of central defence, is at right-back tonight.

7:51pm

5 - Dani Lopez wraps his foot round the loose ball in the box, but his shot hits the side netting.

7:48pm

Sodje is getting a cheer with every towering header and strong tackle he puts in. There's no doubting where the fans' loyalties lie.

7:45pm

Bury get the game underway...

7:45pm

Chants of "Sodje, Sodje" ring out from the sparse crowd here at Gigg Lane as the fans prepare for kick-off.

Let's hope his return brings about a change of fortune for the side after four straight defeats.

7:29pm

Team news

Kevin Blackwell has made one change from the side that lost 2-1 at home to Colchester United on Saturday - and it's a big one.

Shakers legend Efe Sodje, who has spent the last month on loan at Barrow, has been drafted into the starting line-up to partner Ashley Eastham in the centre of defence.

Right-back Carl Regan has dropped down to the bench, with centre-back Ethan Ebanks-Landell switching into his position.

Great match report, how does Andy Bishop help in the 1st goal when he'd already been subbed?

As someone who`s been one of Landell`s biggest critics, I`ve got to say he had a stormer at full-back last night - credit where it`s due. In mid-field and in central defence he`s been bobbins, but as full-back he was superb, and linked up well with Jones. Miond you, the presence of Efe alongside was so important to that. Efe was talking to him and egging him on, and the lad really settled.
What a difference to have Efe back - the confidence and determination in defence was so evident - and they made sure we weren`t chasing the game. Let`s hope his injury doesn`t keep him out on Saturday.
Which leaves the all important question - why did our "manager" send Efe out on loan in the first place? What league position would we now be in if we hadn`t played so many games with two inexperienced central defenders?
