Jordan Mustoe signing a warning to Bury defence
KEVIN Blackwell has moved to shore up his defence ahead of the visit of Newport County to Gigg Lane this weekend.
The Bury boss has drafted in Wigan Athletic defender Jordan Mustoe on a month’s loan after losing patience with a back four that has kept just one clean sheet in nine League Two matches so far this season.
The 22-year-old full-back will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s visit of the newly promoted Welsh side as the Shakers bid to end a run of four league games without a win.
“Jordan has featured in the Wigan Athletic first team and has played a host of games out on loan so he has plenty of experience and will be useful addition to the squad,” said Blackwell.
“I felt we needed more competition for places in defence, especially at left-back, after starting the season with no real cover in that department.”
Mustoe has made four appearances for Wigan in the FA Cup since signing professional terms in 2010 and has 45 matches under his belt in loan spells at Barnet, Morecambe and Carlisle United.
