Bury get the match under way...

2:58pm

DAVID Flitcroft dipped into the Huddersfield Town youth set-up for the second time in a week to recruit teenaged left-back Robbie McIntyre.

The Scottish 19-year-old has never played for the Terriers first-team, just like fellow teenager James Burke, who played a key role for the Shakers on his debut in the 3-0 win at Hartlepool on New Year’s Day.

McIntyre, whose signing was confirmed after 10pm last night, has been handed a place on the bench for today’s tough trip to Chesterfield.

It was a case of one in, one out last night, as John Rooney was released from his contract with the JD-outfit.

2:41pm

Team news

David Flitcroft has kept faith with the same starting IX that won so impressively at Hartlepool on New Year's Day.

But there are plenty of changes and surprises on the bench.

Craig Jones is drops out, raising fears that his recovery from a groin strain is not going to plan.

And there is no place for new centre-back Pablo Mills, who joined this week after being released from Rotherham United.

Euan Holden and Regan Walker have also lost their places amongst the substitutes.

New left-back Robbie McIntyre, who joined last night after being released by Huddersfield Town, could make his debut from the bench, while Tom Soares returns from a hamstring injury and Tope Obadeyi is back following a loan spell at Plymouth.

2:33pm

I have not posted in a few weeks to see where the NEW Revolution was taking us,
Well today after our biggest thumping this season I am left pondering the rest of the season on a realistic place?.
Most certainly not a whiff or a sniff of a play-off place I would wager 15th or below,
After the last few games I do believe we will not go down the football has got much better to watch, with more keeping the ball and more passing from the back. However we still lack the assassin up front who will score the goals,
Like I have previously posted keeping the services of Nairds is a great step forward and is bringing in a full defence that leaks like an old sieve wise?.
Toady we played a class team that either didn't play when they came to GIgg Lane as the opening game of the season was 11 players putting on a shirt from the club shop that looked liked they had never met before never mind played before. Next week we play another class outfit,
AS someone pointed out one swallow does not make a summer, a few mediocre results don't make Bury play off contenders, But I do belive we won't go down,
Championship not in my lifetime, sorry Mr CHairman I do belive you have the well being of the club but I also think unless you have unlimited funds and can play within the fair play rules Bury will be league one at best under your rein...
I will be in my seat against Burton supporting Bury FC as that is what true fans with the club at its heart does, Not looking at balance sheets and wondering where the next penny can be saved or made.

Beaten by a far better team and without question the score did not reflect the picture of this game. Certainly, they deserved the 3 points and I will be very surprised if they do not gain automatic promotion. Their passing and team work was top drawer, their execution of their plans was excellent and we were out played.

However, I do not see doom and gloom. We can learn from this type of team and I believe that the gaffer will take positives from this match. Should Mayor been sent off, NO. Ref was to quick to make a name for himself.

I would agree that we will NOT get promoted nor make the play offs, but anything within the top 12-15 will be a successful season based upon the nonsense we were subject to with Blackwell.

Flits has the right approach.

Actually, Chesterfield's Manager had high praise for the team and gaffer on BBC League 2 interview. Listen to it, well worth your attention.

Next up Burton at home. Won't be easy.

That's funny because i never heard him make one word of reference to us the opposition prior to this game being played on his local Radio station Peak Fm or BBC Radio Sheffield.

His arrogance was to be proved correct in the end as he dismissed us as being a serious threat to his powerful team.

On this evidence i cannot see us staying up.All of the other relegation strugglers look like they are up for the fight and have put some kind of a run together.

The chairman is completely deluded and needs to put his money where his mouth is and start building a team worthy of our proud history.

Blackwell must have had hit hands tied with regard to finances at the beginning of this season although i admit other managers would have made more of a fist of it in terms of creating a decent side.

“Certainly our performance was very very good against a strong Bury side. I’m glad we’ve played them twice now because I do think they will have an upturn in fortunes because they’ve got some very good players.”
The above s a quote from Paul Cook in the Derbyshire Times after playing us.

That sounds like a comment from a manager who is pleased that his team have thumped a pretty ordinary side but believes with a few additions David has the ability to improve our prospects this season.

I listen to Paul Cook quite a lot on BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD and he shows no respect to any of the teams that he plays prior to the game but is always respectful of them after once they have been put to the sword.

I see a similar parallel with how bad Barnsley have been this season and where are heading right now. Both teams will have an outside slim chance of survival.

We seem to be a club that attracts mediocrity both on and off the pitch right now.Oh and then there are the people who do too much spouting with the media who have made bold promises for our club these past 12 months.

Here's hoping our Toy town Chairman does the decent thing and stand aside if we are relegated,(praise the Lord)
