William Edjenguele leaves Bury

FRENCH centre-back William Edjenguele has left Bury by mutual consent, the club has confirmed.

The 26-year-old defender was thought to be one of the key signings of the summer, after previous manager Kevin Blackwell brought him from League One side Coventry on a free transfer.

But after getting off to a decent start, scoring in his first two games, Edjenguele fell out of favour with the fans following a number of high profile mistakes and was eventually dropped by current boss David Flitcroft.

The 6ft 2in centre half made the last of his 23 appearances for the Shakers in a 2-2 draw at home to Scunthorpe United on Boxing Day, having scored a total of three goals for the club.

He becomes the latest member of the Bury squad to agree to the termination of his contract following Marco Navas's departure last Friday and five more players leaving the previous week.

Another smart move by the club. However, I am a little confused? We have shipped out 7 players and brought in 8. This is a net gain of +1.. My understanding that Flits wanted to pear down the squad?

Maybe I am missing something or misunderstand the position of the Manager and club.

Wise decision last night, again no reason to lose a game over a stuck ball in a puddle.

Just shows us numpties as Blackwell called us do know what a bad center half he was.!! so glad flikkers has now got rid of most of the rubbish Blackwell brought in.3rd from bottom will do me and then next season we can all look forward to some great football and at long last a realistic chance of promotion.

A good footballing decision but a bad one from a personal level, good to see better players coming in to replace the dross Blackwell signed though.Nards has now signed his contract so the future is looking brighter unlike the weather.
