BURY have announced the signing of former terrace favourite Nicky Adams on a three-year deal.

The energetic Bolton-born midfielder has signed for an undisclosed fee from Rotherham United.

Adams made the switch to the Championship-chasing Millers in January, with reports at the time suggesting a fee of £95,000.

But with Keiran Agard and Ben Pringle in top form at the New York City Stadium, his chances have been rather limited under Steve Evans over the last few months.

Adams left Bury in 2008 as the club’s young player of the year in a season that saw him score 13 goals for the club.

He signed for Leicester City and helped Nigel Pearson’s side to promotion to the Championship, also spending time on loan at Rochdale and Leyton Orient.

The 27-year-old moved to Brentford and then on a permanent basis to Rochdale before spells at Crawley and Rotherham.
