BURY will host League Two promotion rivals Morecambe in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Jim Bentley’s side, who are second in the table, four places above the Shakers, beat League One Fleetwood in the opening round, while David Flitcroft’s men were given a bye.
The tie will be played in the week commencing Monday, October 6.
Shakers manager David Flitcroft said: “It’ a good draw because it cuts down the travelling and it is one we are looking forward to as they have had a great start.
“It is something that hopefully the fans might get behind. I know it is not celebrated too well, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, but it is a good cup for lower league teams to be involved in.”
