I DON’T know where it’s gone wrong. I was at the last game at Spotland in the FA Cup and it was men against boys, Bury murdered Rochdale.

I can’t believe they’ve gone from being that close to being a really good side to what we saw on Saturday.

In November Bury were so far ahead of Rochdale in the table and now they’re getting tatered by them 3-0, so a lot of questions have to be asked, like how has the passion gone from their play?

It’s ok saying ‘we’ll work it out’, but when it’s gone on for 12 games you’ve got to be able to sort it, whatever way possible.

David Flitcroft has portrayed himself as a forward-thinking manager who ‘designs wins’ but then every away game they go into, they’re getting hammered. It’s like groundhog day.

There must be something fundamentally wrong and the buck has to stop with the manager because he’s the one who picks the players.

Sometimes you can lose a derby game and be the better side so the supporters might still be reasonably happy, but that didn’t happen on Saturday. I know a lot of supporters were disappointed with that performance and they’ve every right to be. It let a lot of people down.

I think the expectations may be too much but you can’t blame the supporters for that.

The club moved into Carrington, said they’re going to sign this player and that player, and mentioned a five-year plan.

But when you set a time-scale fans start to ask ‘come on then, what’s happening with this plan?’ It’s always ticking down.

The club has said they want to get into the Championship but if you look at Bury’s history, it’s tended not to be a second-tier club. It’s always been a family club known for developing players and playing good football.

Flitcroft has talked about if Bury get into the Championship but, unless you’re nearly there, don’t even talk about it.

Sometimes it needs someone to calm things down and you’d think that’d be someone like Chris Brass. Someone a bit more experienced can do that. He was more involved when he was assistant last season but he’s still around to help.

I think the club has lost the unity it had with the supporters, the feelgood factor needs to come back.

Bury got promoted last year but it doesn’t feel like it. It’s all about managing the expectancy – on both sides.
