BURY rounded off a manic summer transfer window with the signing of Portsmouth striker Michael Smith on a two year-deal.
The Shakers swooped for the 25-year-old Wallsend-born front man after he was released by Pompey earlier in the day.
He will supplement a Bury strikeforce that already includes Jermaine Beckford, Harry Bunn and Chris Maguire.
Smith enjoyed his most prolific period at Swindon Town, where he scored 26 goals in 72 appearances.
He signed for Portsmouth last June and a successful loan spell and found the net 10 times for the south coast club.
The striker's career return is 63 goals in 223 appearances at 10 different clubs.
