STRIKER Ryan Lowe is determined to make up for his part in preventing the Shakers getting automatic promotion last season.
The 30-year-old front man scored a last-minute equaliser for Chester City in March to salvage a point for his side in their ultimately unsuccessful fight against the drop. Those dropped points ultimately contributed to Bury missing out on the top three, not that Lowe, who joined the Shakers on a free transfer, needs any reminder.
“The lads have already caned me for that goal,” he said. “But it was my job to keep Chester in the Football League. I tried my best but I just couldn’t do it on my own. “It was unfortunate but now I have to pay Bury back with goals while I am here.”
