BURY winger Nicky Adams is preparing to go toe-to-toe with some of the Premiership's hottest talents.
The former Sharples pupil has been called up by Wales under-21s to face England in Wrexham tonight.
But the 21-year-old is not fazed by coming up against the likes of Gabby Agbonglahor, Theo Walcott, Tom Huddlestone and Joe Hart - and hopes to add to the cap he picked up against France last November.
"There is a lot of quality in the Wales squad, so I have had to be patient," he said. "Hopefully I'll get another chance against England.
"A lot of the lads are coming from Premiership or Championship clubs, so just to train and be around them is a good experience for me."
Closer to home, Adams remains in contract limbo with his Gigg Lane deal up for expiry at the end of next month. An offer is on the table, and Bury boss Alan Knill hopes he will continue to build his career at Bury.
"In my opinion, the best for Nicky is to continue his progression here," he said.
"I have told him and his agent in no uncertain terms that he has to be playing games at this stage of his career.
"If he does move on to another club and Nicky isn't playing every week, then I will fall out with that agent."
