Preston clear a dangerous Hopper centre...come on Bury!
4:41pm

4:33pm
72 – SUB – David Amoo replaces Chris Beardsley
73 – Stuckmann does well to push a Thompson shot away.
4:31pm
No joy for either side as yet going forward with the game being played largely in midfield. Bury are playing with five in midfield now. David Worrall is playing a more central role, behind lone front-man John-Lewis, while Tom Hopper is on the right and Tom Soares on the left.
4:26pm

47 - Comedy of errors in te Bury goalmouth with Preston slicing three good chances to shoot then Carson fluffing a punched clearance when he had plenty of time to catch the ball.
48 - The Bury keeper then redeems himself with a good punch to clear John Mousinho's dangerous whipped cross.
3:39pm
38 - Hopper charges down a backpass and blocks Stuckman's attempted clearance but the rebound goes behind.
39 - BOOKED - Andy Procter goes into the book for pulling back Joe Skarz
3:38pm
The game is getting feisty now, with the Preston crowd and players appealing for everything. Sodje has just survived two penalty shouts - one for handball, the other a challenge on Chris Beardsley.
3:36pm
34 - BOOKED - Efe Sodje is given a yellow fro a strong aerial on Jack King.
3:26pm
24 - Zac Thompson hits the side-netting with Bury's best chance of the half. The centre-midfielder seized on a Matt Doherty throw from the right and had time and space in the box but could not guide his side-footed effort past Thorsten Stuckmann in the Preston goal.
3:18pm
It was dipping, but the Bury's captain's effort was high and wide.
3:17pm
Schumacher lines up a free-kick from 30 yards...
3:16pm
15 - Luke Foster goes just wide with a volley from the edge of the box as Bury can only clear the ball as far as the centre-back from a Preston corner.
3:11pm
10 – Will Hayhurst gets on the end of a John Welsh pull-back but his shot on goal is blocked by the Bury defence.
3:07pm
1 – Surprise striker Jack King, who played right-back in the recent JPT match between the two sides, has a shot blocked before being flagged offside as he bids to turn in the loose ball after the Bury back-four struggled to clear their lines.
3 – Trevor Carson turns Andy Procter’s shot round his near post after the centre-midfielder had found space on the right.
3:06pm
Former Preston striker David Healy was roundly booed by the home fans when his name was announced over the tannoy. The Bury front man is going to have to put up with plenty of stick today...
2:35pm
Team news
Kevin Blackwell has only made one change to the Bury starting line-up that earned a last-minute draw at home to Shrewsbury last Friday.
Tom Soares comes in for winger Gregg Wylde, who is not in the Bury squad despite, on Christmas Eve, extending his loan from Wanderers until the end of January.
Soares is likely to take Wylde's place on the left of midfield, while Peter Sweeney returns to the bench.
2:20pm

Apart from the first 15 minutes (when we got battered), the game was pretty even but we showed no desire in the 2nd half whatsoever to go for the win. It was quite clear that Blackwells intention was to hold onto the point and not take any chances and attempt to go for the 3.
Simply put, Preston were there for the taking, but our clueless manager inexplicably decided to have a re-jigg during the interval by putting Hopper on the right wing (who from then on never touched the ball), moving our only outlet Worrall into CM (again, never touched the ball) and leaving the ineffective as ever Healy upfront on his own to watch the game simply pass him by (by again, never touching the ball). From the 46th minute we NEVER looked like winning, yet our manager seemed to think we were the best team and were unlucky not to win......really?????
?
Maybe if you had abit more belief in your players Kevin (and stop using "age" as an excuse), showed abit more courage throughout the game and stopped tinkering with players and formations as much as you do, we may actually go on and win a game.
Take note Kevin:
Hopper, is NOT a winger.
Worrall, is NOT a CM.
Healy is NOT good enough.
Soares isn't either.
Thompson never will be either.
