I SPOKE too soon a couple of weeks ago when I said there was no reason to dislike Manchester United anymore.
Gone seemed the days when they took opponents out at the knee and chased referees around the pitch while the manager - a knight by the way - tolerated their thuggish behaviour.
In their place were all fancy flicks and smiley, swashbuckling good pros. It was so hard to be bitter.
Then came Chelseagate.
Players scrapped with Chelsea groundstaff, Rio Ferdinand kicked a female steward, a twisted-featured Owen Hargreaves hurled a torrent of abuse in the face of the fourth official, Alex Ferguson stirred up trouble with Chelsea and his assistant attacked the officials.
Normal service is restored.
