Jardell on drugs - that explains it...

MARIO Jardell says he was on drugs when he played for Bolton.

Anyone who saw him play, and I use the word loosely, will not need telling they weren't the performance-enhancing kind.

The Brazilian, who scored 168 goals in 161 games for Porto earlier in his career, said playing for Bolton made him want to take cocaine.

He should count himself lucky. If he'd been around this season he'd have wanted something a bit stronger.

Taking a swipe at Wanderers, he asked: "When I went to some smaller teams, how could I score if there were no players who could put the ball at my feet?"

It would have helped if you weren't on drugs, mate.

Strange that BSA's fitness regime didn't pick this up. I thought it included regular blood testing to check for nutrition and recovery levels. Perhaps coke doesn't show up unless specifically tested for.
