RICHARD Moore grabbed a hat-trick at Bolton third team extended their winning run to three games at Leigh 1st Xl.

Bolton were in control from the start against their local North West League Division Five North/South rivals with Andy Hill and Rob Scrafe dominating midfield.

Reece Greenwood, Umer Muhammed and Moore were all denied by fine saves before the latter broke the deadlock from a penalty corner.

He neatly slotted home the second goal of the game to lead comfortably at half time.

Bolton were in cruise control and really should have been four or five goals ahead before Leigh halved the arrears with a scrappy goal.

The local lads quickly restored the two-goal cushion when Moore scored his and Bolton's third.

Chris Williams stepped up from the defence to put Bolton ahead against the strugglers, picking the ball up just inside his own half, playing a one-two with Robert Lord andn finding the Urmston defence parting, unleashing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from inside the D.

Urmston came back into the game strongly and were unlucky not to equalise, largely due to goalkeeper Ed Bailey making some vital saves.

Nathan Bolton doubled the lead in the second half, calmly finishing off a well-worked passing move.

Some sloppy play at the back from Bolton allowed Urmston back into the game and set up a tense finish. However, Bolton held on for another three points.

Bolton's firsts suffered a double losing weekend, 4-3 at Blackpool 1st Xl in the North West League Division Two on Saturday, and 9-2 at Formby in the Lancashire Cup.

In the league game, Bolton took an early lead with a wonderful strike by Rob Davies.

After Blackpool drew level, Bolton again took the lead through Tom White, but then two goals for the home side scored two goals.

Davies made it all squared immediately after the restart, but it was Blackpool who got the winner with 10 minutes to go.

With four divisions separating Bolton and Formby, Sunday's cup clash was always going to be a tough game.

Formby were 5-0 up at half time and scored two more goals straight after the break before Davies scored a stunning solo effort which saw him take the ball from the halfway line past four defenders before slipping the ball under the goalkeeper.

The same man then scored a second before Formby added two more to their tally.
