BISC Juniors Under-14s suffered agonising defeat in the Lancashire FA Cup Final when they lost on penalties.
The Darcy Lever-based team drew 3-3 with Cadley FC in normal time before losing 5-4 on spot kicks.
The last two of around 100 teams who entered fought out a thrilling final in which Declan Baldwin put BISC ahead when he volleyed home Jamie Ramwell's corner on 20 minutes.
Cadley levelled from the spot and went ahead just before the interval.
BISC levelled through a stunning Manasse Lungenyi strike on 51 minutes before another penalty put Cadley ahead.
The Bolton boys would not be denied in open play and Adam Walton levelled before their shootout heartbreak.
