THE wheelchair basketball season is slowly drawing to a close as Bolton Bulls hosted title-chasing Worcester Wolves.

The Bulls lined up with a starting five including Tom Eckersley, Darren Birch, Graeme Lambert, Dale Speight and Steve Aston.

It was always going to be a tough game for Bolton Bulls coming up against a full court press from their opponents from the opening tip-off.

Graeme Lambert’s two baskets would be the only points for the Bolton Bulls in the first quarter.

But the Wolves started to lay the foundations of what would become an ever-increasing lead scoring 16 points.

The second quarter would get no easier for Bolton Bulls, as they managed a single basket by Darren Birch.

The Wolves instead extended their advantage by adding a 20 points to take a commanding 36-6 lead at the break

The full court press started take it’s toll on Bolton Bulls in the second half as the pressure forced them into misplaced passes and turnovers which lead to a large return in points for Worcester Wolves.

The Bulls added add to their score with Tom Eckersley from the free-throw line (adding two) and two baskets from open play.

Birch would score Bolton Bulls final two points of the game.

The Bulls worked incredibly hard as a team but it sadly is not reflected on the 92-14 scoreline.
