THE future looks bright at Turton FC and that is not just after the first team's West Lancashire Football League heroics last season.

Neil Johnson's side may have been promoted to the top flight of the West Lancs League and reached two cup finals but success is running throughout the club.

Their Under-17s side secured the Bolton and Bury A section league title on Saturday with a 1-1 draw away at Horwich RMI.

The team is managed by Matt Taylor and his assistant is Ex-Bolton Wanderers player Mark Winstanley.

Club chairman Peter Gray said: "They have been in fine form all season only losing one league game and only losing cup semi final 2-1 in extra time.

"A number of the players have also helped support the open age teams with a few playing for 1st and 2nds throughout the course of the season.

"The future of the club is very bright with these talented players and they are also a great set of lads, with a great team ethic, which has brought them deserved success this season.

"We have always tried to make the juniors set-up inclusive and invited the youngsters to our presentation evening last year.

"That way they will have pride in playing throughout the club.

"If we can make them have fun and enjoy football here then we can enjoy success on and off the pitch."
