REGENT Park’s Paul Bartle gave himself the perfect birthday present with his first hole-in-one after 40 years as a golfer.
He recorded his ace at Great Lever on the 140-yard first hole at the start of his round in the First Division of the Golf Cot competition.
“I was somewhat shocked” said Bartle who turned 54 on the day he struck the memorable shot.
"The elevated green concealed my finish but a playing partner finally found my ball in the hole.”
Bartle was first taken to Regent Park by his father when he was 13. Since then, he has been captain of the club in 2002 and was honoured as captain of the Bolton Captains’ Society in 2013/14.
