IT'S that time of year again when the Bolton Sports and Active Living Team ask local clubs and individuals to send in their nominations for the best teams and sportsmen and women in the past 12 months.

Talented athlete Leah Peploe walked away with the main prize of the Sports Achiever of 2014 at the event last year despite some tough competition from Commonwealth Games wrestler George Ramm to name but a few.

Meanwhile, Westhoughton Lions scooped the club of the year gong while Bolton Olympic Wrestling Club coach Tony Morris was recognised as the Unsung Hero.

Among the categories up for grabs this time include: instructor/coach of the year, unsung hero, volunteer of the year, sports achiever, changing lifestyle recognition, club or class of the year, disable d sports achiever, young volunteer, junior sports team achievement and senior sports team of the year.

Anyone involved in sport can nominate an individual or team for the Borough Awards.

The nominee must live or be a member of a team or be a club within the borough they have been entered for.

Each member can only be entered for one category per nomination form.

All nominations must be submitted on the official form (photocopies are acceptable) and it will be judged on what had been achieved between March 31 2014, and April 1, 2015.

The closing date to return of the nomination form is 5pm Friday 21st August 2015 and the awards evening has been pencilled in for September 18 at the Premier Suite at the Whites Hotel Macron Stadium.
